Binance Co-founder Addresses Rumors of Sale As Exchange Controversy Intensifies

Binance co-founder He Yi recently dismissed rumors suggesting that the crypto exchange is on the brink of being sold, calling the claims "false and made by competitors."

The rumors originated from a tweet by @CloakMK, which suggested that Binance was facing difficulties due to policy issues and challenges related to Western perceptions of Eastern influence in key industries.

He Yi clarified that Binance regularly engages with institutions for potential investments and partnerships, with discussions ongoing every month.

While the company is open to the idea of welcoming strategic partners, the Binance co-founder emphasized that there are no plans for a sale. Additionally, Binance is exploring opportunities to acquire other exchanges.

Binance has also recently sparked speculation that the exchange is liquidating assets, stemming from a significant drop in the amount of Bitcoin and Ethereum the exchange held in January.

However, the exchange quickly responded, explaining that the drop was due to internal accounting adjustments and not any attempt to sell off assets. It reassured its users that it was not liquidating holdings.

Meanwhile, the token listing process at Binance has come under scrutiny. Changpeng Zhao, Binance’s former CEO and co-founder, expressed concerns about flaws in the process, acknowledging the need for improvements in how centralized exchanges handle new token listings.
